Sometimes I wonder why I go on vacation at all, considering how much work it takes to wrap things up before leaving, and how painful the re-entry into reality can be. But then I look at pictures like this. Sigh.
I’m working on getting back into the swing of real life . . . you know, wearing pants and long sleeves and waterproof jackets and all that . . . but I’ve got some tropical inspirations for baked goods that I hope to be posting in the near future. For now, I’ll leave you with a few more pictures from the last two weeks.
So, I’m in Kahana, Maui right now. Did I mention that? Yes, yes I did. Somewhere after the download on the family trip to San Diego, and right before the little evidentiary post regarding a soccer outing in Vegas. I know, because I received hate mail. Not from you, lovely blog readers. From my good friends. Haters, one and all.
I kid. Mostly.
I went. I saw. I survived. And am attempting to recover.
There was soccer. Lots of soccer. So much soccer I am still limping around.
There was sight-seeing. And OH MY are there sights to see!
There was a lot of eating and drinking. Enough eating and drinking to completely cancel out the health benefits of playing all that soccer. Enough drinking that I don’t really have pictures of any of the eating and drinking. Which is probably a good thing.
So I’m headed to Las Vegas tomorrow. To play soccer, of all things. I’ve never been to Vegas before, and since it is 82 degrees and sunny there, and it has been hailing in between rain showers here . . . well, let’s just say I’m super excited.
And I’m not sure I should declare this, because it may really get the hate mail flowing . . . but, after I get back home next Tuesday I’ll only have three days to unpack, do laundry, and repack before Continue reading
